Resources
Students can choose from a host of Genesee Community College degree paths. Each path is a gateway to profitable and fulfilling careers that are in demand by local industries.
What Is a Pathway?
Students explore more in-depth options that are available within pathways that match our local workforce. Students identify career objectives and outline how they achieve their goals. As students advance, they know enough about the career pathways, and where they fit, and students choose their degree pathway.
Degree Pathway Options/Information
The options include a four or five-year track where students begin as freshmen or a fast track for 11th/12th graders by front-loading college credit. In either option, students earn college credit and a high school diploma. There are various levels of pace depending on the student and their goals and the degree choices are up to the students.
The Early College High School offers students unlimited opportunities!
Staff at the Early College High School work closely with students to determine a college path that is right for them. But a pathway is not set in stone, a student can switch pathways and keep any college credit earned.
Ninth and Tenth Grade Track
Ninth and tenth graders are offered both full and half-time options. Students are dismissed in time for after-school activities and extracurriculars. Full-time students arrive around 8:30 a.m. and half-time students arrive around 11:00 a.m. If students begin full-time in 9th grade, it’s possible that students could be awarded their high school diploma and Associate degree simultaneously upon graduation. Ninth and tenth-grade students attend school at the Early College High School, which is located at Byron-Bergen Central Schools.
11th and 12th Grade Track
11th and 12th graders attend Genesee Community College (GCC) in Batavia on a full-time basis.
