Financial Aid/Resources
Our New York State HEGIS Code is 5209.20.
Practical Nursing students interested in applying for financial aid must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). It is recommended that students, spouses and/or parents use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool, which can make the application process easier and faster.
Students and/or parents applying for financial aid must first obtain their Federal Student Aid ID, which will then enable the FAFSA to be signed electronically. Go to FSAid.ed.gov through the link below for your FSA ID. This gives you access to your Federal Students Aid's online system and can serve as your legal signature. At least one parent of a dependent student will be required to have an FSA ID to sign the FAFSA electronically. Your FSA ID can be used to sign your FAFSA application electronically, make electronic corrections to your FAFSA, authorize the IRS data retrieval process, sign your master promissory note and (MPN) for direct loans electronically, complete your direct loan entrance counseling, and access your financial aid records.
To receive Federal Financial Aid (Federal Pell Grants and Federal Direct Loans) at Genesee Valley BOCES (GV BOCES), students must complete a free application for federal student aid (FAFSA) each academic year.
You can complete a 2023-2024 FAFSA using the myStudentAid app. Download the myStudentAid app in the Apple App Store or Google Play. The myFAFSA component - which is used to complete the FAFSA form, is the app's featured function.
Students are required to attend a general financial aid orientation followed by an individual financial aid meeting where our staff will develop each individual financial aid plan (IFP).
